Which sector does Alzea India offer internships to students in?
At the moment, Alzea India facilitates internship to all hotel management/hospitality sector students, which includes culinary (hot kitchen and cold kitchen), pastry and bakery, food and beverage, housekeeping, front office & bartending or flair bartending.

Fluentzea basically stems from the three words ‘Fluent with ALZEA’. The ideology behind this venture is to ease the cultural shock the students face in francophone countries, through providing assistance with the French language training as a foreign language. Fluentzea hosts pre-recorded video sessions of French language teaching by our French language experts, along with study materials and weekly live classes to ease your worries and make your transition to francophone countries smooth.
Internships
I am not a hotel management student, can I still apply for an internship in France or Mauritius?
Unfortunately no, we cater at the moment to only hospitality or hotel management students. This comprises securing internships in France for culinary, pastry, food and beverage and housekeeping and in Mauritius for culinary, pastry, front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, bartending or flair bartending.
I don’t speak French, can I still apply for an internship? Is knowledge of French mandatory for internships in France or French-speaking countries like Mauritius?
While not always a strict requirement, knowing French can be beneficial. We offer a complimentary in-house French language course ‘FLUENTZEA’ to support interns, enhancing their language skills and competitiveness. These are pre-recorded French language training sessions that are accompanied by expert study materials. Live classes every week with our language experts until the start of internship also aids in improving the conversational French language skills needed to interact daily with colleagues and the host property while in France or French speaking nations.
Although for work permits in France or other Francophone countries, basic French knowledge is necessary, and some properties may require certification. We help you prepare for those as well, at an additional cost.
What is the eligibility criteria for internships?
Do interns need prior experience?
Prior experience is recommended, but a lot of properties in France and Mauritius hire freshers, based on their knowledge and motivation to intern and perform cultural exchange. For detailed insights, give us a call.
What is the duration of the hospitality - France or Mauritius internships?
The duration is either 3 or 6 months for France and 6 months or 1 year for Mauritius, with possible alterations as per college modules. Contact us for details.
Is the internship paid or unpaid?
The internship is a paid opportunity.
How much in advance should I start searching for an internship?
Our regular process time is anywhere between 4-5 months, but we ask the students to register at least 6 months prior to the time they aim to start their internship, especially if they are looking to intern during the summer as it is the busiest months where a lot of interns are in search of an opportunity.
What kind of documents do I have to present for my internship?
Everything depends on your destination. But all internships require a valid passport or ID and college’s support, cooperation and NOC.
I am a diploma student, would I still be eligible for an internship or only degree students are eligible?
Not all internships require a degree certificate. France accepts interns who are currently pursuing a diploma as well as a degree, until your education is related to the field you wish to intern in, i.e hospitality, culinary and pastry or hotel management.
What is the application process for the internship program?

Does Alzea India provide accommodation and meals during the internship?

Travel expenses vary, and it’s essential to inquire about specific details for each program. Some internships may offer assistance or reimbursement, while others may not provide financial or travel support like France.
Will Alzea India provide any assistance with visa logistics?
Yes, Alzea India will provide assistance with visa logistics, such as booking the appointment, cross checking the documents, and training well for the interview.
Will travel insurance be provided by Alzea India?
No, travel insurance is not included in the package provided by Alzea India.
Is it necessary to take up travel insurance?
Yes, it is recommended for your safety.
Do interns need to appear for interviews?
While most of our properties hire based on the trust in us to place good quality students, there are a few hotels that require the interns to strictly go through the interview, to cross check the skills mentioned on the resume and their ability to survive in a foreign land.
Would the interview be in person?
No, all our interviews, except visa interviews that take place during the appointment, happen over a zoom or skype video meeting, in distance.
Does Alzea India help with interview preparation?
Alzea India offers preparation for official interviews through a mock interview process. This involves simulating a real interview scenario to provide candidates with practice and valuable feedback. By conducting mock interviews, Alzea India aims to help candidates refine their interview skills, build confidence, and enhance their performance during actual interviews.
Will interns receive any training or guidance during the internship?
During the internship, interns will receive training and guidance from experienced chefs / chiefs in the restaurant or their host property.
What if Alzea India can't find an internship after payment?
In such cases, we offer the possibility of a partial or full refund, depending on the stage of your application. For detailed information on our refund conditions, please contact us.
How do refunds work at Alzea India?
Refund policies depend on program-specific circumstances. Review the program’s terms and conditions or contact us directly for detailed refund information.
What if I don't like the offer or host property proposed, would I be presented with another offer?
We provide the best options based on eligibility and your interests in mind. We do take requests and will help you secure another internship if you reject the proposal, although we would require strong and valid reasoning of rejection. If you are unable to present a valid reason or our team doesn’t deem the reason presented as valid, turning down the offer and the request to search for a new one may incur additional costs.
What happens if the internship does not meet my University’s requirements?
Before taking in your registration we would cross check and note the requirements of your university well, and if not met, we would not present the offer. However, in case when you are in the country and the internship doesn’t meet the requirements of your university as discussed during placement, you can inform us and we will help you and take the necessary actions, depending on your personal case.
Can interns cancel midway after beginning the application process?
Yes, but refunds depend on circumstances and reasons for backing out.
Can I quit my internship midway?
Yes, you can quit your internships midway provided they have a strong reason, but generally, no refund is offered once you are in the country.
We ask all our students to contact and discuss with us before deciding to explore alternative solutions and taking any major steps.
Are there any complimentary services included in the internship program?
Yes, in addition to the internship, we offer complimentary services to enrich the applicant’s experience. These include the FitInsideOut Program, language courses, and Counseling and Therapy Support, fostering personal and professional growth. Some come at an extra cost or are included in the advantages of our premium program packages.
How does Alzea India prepare interns for a new country?

How do I prepare for a study trip with Alzea India?

Fluentzea - French Language Courses
What courses does Fluentzea offer?
Fluentzea provides a variety of French language courses suitable for different needs and aspirations. Whether you’re learning for leisure, academic purposes, career enhancement, or planning to move to a French-speaking country, we have courses tailored for you. Our offerings include DELF to TEF, covering all proficiency levels.
Who can enroll in Fluentzea courses?
Our courses are open to everyone, including school and college students looking to enhance their language skills. Students participating in study trips, study programs, and internships with us gain access to our basic French online course as part of their program benefits.
Tell me more about the basic French online course.
Our basic French online course is a pre-recorded video series that allows students to learn at their own pace. Those enrolled in our programs, trips, or internships receive complimentary access. Weekly live classes are conducted exclusively for program participants to reinforce learning and focus on oral proficiency.
Can I purchase access to the basics of the French language course separately?
Absolutely! Individuals who simply wish to learn French can purchase access to our online portal, where they will find the basics of French language video sessions. This package includes free worksheets for practice and two live classes with our certified French language teachers.
What sets Fluentzea teachers apart?
Our instructors are not only experienced but also certified in French language proficiency, holding DELF or DALF certifications. How are live classes scheduled for online learners?

Do the students have to pay for the service of Alzea India?
Yes, our service contains a fee which is covered by the student. This fee can be paid in installments to ease the financial strain on the student and comes with a guarantee of an internship placement that meets the requirements of the students and the University. If Alzea India is unable to secure an internship offer for the student, we offer a full refund.
All our internships are paid and provide an accommodation for the intern, thus leading to financial and professional gains.
It is also possible for the University/Institution to cover the expense of our service, if desired. We are always glad to start a new collaboration with a University or School.
What assistance would you need from the university/school throughout the internship process?
While specific document requirements may vary by destination, generally, we would need the university to sign the internship contract and provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and a bonafide certificate for the student. Some documents may necessitate signatures and stamps from the college, potentially in the language of the host country. However, we can provide translations upon request to facilitate this process.
Which internship destinations can you offer to our students?
We try to continually increase the number of francophone destinations we can propose to our applicants. At the moment we offer internships in: France and Mauritius.
What happens if any problems arise during the internship?
We start by pinpointing the root cause of the issue, which could stem from various factors such as misunderstandings, challenges in the intern’s adjustment, ineffective communication between supervisors/managers and interns, lack of support from higher management, or unprofessional behavior from the intern’s side. Once we’ve identified the problem, we take immediate action at a foundational level. This often involves encouraging interns to initiate communication, facilitating discussions between interns and their superiors, and if necessary, arranging virtual meetings to address escalated issues. Our approach varies depending on the nature of the problem encountered. Rest assured, we will always inform and keep the university / institution in loop, as soon as a complication arises.
Who signs the agreement for the internship from the university/institution?
We would require mostly the director and intern or placement coordinator to sign the internship agreement / contract.
I work for a hotel / company & am in search of hospitality interns
What kind of candidate profiles can we expect?
The majority of our candidates are Indian citizens, primarily pursuing studies in hotel management/hospitality, often specializing in their preferred areas within the field. Proficiency in 2 to 4 languages is common among our students, with English being the most fluent and dominant, and French typically at a beginner level. We ensure that all our students receive training in the French language to facilitate their seamless transition to a new country. Our students are open to internships lasting between 3 to 12 months.
What are our obligations towards Alzea India and the student?
Our priority is to have effective communication with the applicant during the recruitment process and later for them to have an internship experience where they learn and grow better as a professional. Therefore, we require your response to the applications of our candidates to be quick, and for you to ensure that the internship meets the student’s university requirements, that they learn something from the internship and return and that it is beneficial for them.
We also expect you to host the student, provide clean and adjustable accommodation with basic amenities and duty meals.
We want you to have a clear communication with respect to the logistics offered before finalizing the internship, i.e the reason of the need of intern, the expectation out of an intern, the department of internship, the duration and proper dates, the stipend and taxes to be deducted, the mode of payment, and the details of the accommodation.
What documents would be required from our end?
We would require an accommodation letter, stating the intern will be hosted by the hotel for the entire duration of the internship, on the letterhead with a signature and stamp. We would also require details to be mentioned on the contract and a sign and stamp on the contract.
What are our obligations towards the intern?
Your main responsibilities towards the intern are the ones which are mentioned in the contract:
- Timely payment of the stipend.
- Define the company supervisor for the intern, who will support and guide the intern within the company.
- Respect the missions and conditions of the approved internship.
- Inform us if any problems occur during your internship.
- Provide a decent work environment.
- Sign the agreements of the internship for the period of time required by the university and send via post if requested.
- Helping adjust with the new surroundings and some help and guidance regarding the logistics.
What steps are taken if the internship doesn't meet expectations or if the intern isn't fulfilling their duties?
Sometimes it can happen, that the intern is not adapting well enough to the surroundings, company or that he/she has difficulties with understanding and performing the given tasks. Or the intern is not as serious and responsible with their work as expected.
Certainly, you can count on our support in this case. If necessary, we will contact the university of the intern as well and inform the student about the situation and issue a warning if necessary. Moreover, you can re-evaluate the intern’s position and tasks and if there won’t be any improvement, as a last resort, terminate the internship and the contract with the student. In this case it is important to notify us, the university and the student about this development at least 15 days in advance.
How much does Alzea India’s service cost?
Our service comes at no cost to your company or hotel. We encourage our partner establishments to support students during their international stays. Typically, our service fees are covered by the candidates or their universities. However, if you prefer to cover these costs for our applicants, it is indeed possible.
